Geoscience Technician



To assist the Geological and Geophysical Team in the exploration for, and development of, Oil and Gas reserves in Block 9, Yemen.

Duties include:

  • Organize and maintain Geological and Geophysical drilling and well files. This includes the filing of both new documents and the re-filing of existing documents used by staff. Also confirm that we have received all required reports from contractors and track down missing data.
  • Receive daily digital well reports, including geological, drilling and field information, and update well files on main computer server on a daily basis. Also electronically transfer data, including drilling recommendations and Final geological reports to partners when required.
  • Load data into geological and geophysical computer programs as directed.
  • Create graphics for reports, including the Well Recommendation to Drill (WRD) and Final Geological Reports (FGR) for each well, and proposal documents as required by Geological and Geophysical staff.
  • Print and assemble documents, including WRD and FGR reports, and arrange for delivery to partners and Government.
  • Assist Geologists and Geophysicists with other duties including mapping and building cross-sections, and preparing reports.

The successful candidate should be eligible to work in the UK and have obtained any necessary work visas.
