IPM/Petroleum Engineer
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and Australia's largest single resource project. Chevron is currently progressing expansion opportunities that will further develop the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields, Australia's largest-known natural gas resource. This includes the construction of additional gas processing capability at the current approved three train gas plant on Barrow Island off the north-west coast of Western Australia. Chevron is looking for creative and experienced people to join the Gorgon Project Expansion team.
We are currently looking for an experienced Petroleum Engineer to join the Greater Gorgon Expansion Project Team. This position will be based in Perth and will report to the Lead Petroleum Engineer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake production forecasting and optimisation of the Greater Gorgon integrated production model (IPM), including uncertainty analysis
- Ensure timely delivery of fit for purpose engineering deliverables, interfacing with other disciplines in the Subsurface team to support appraisal and development decisions and forecasts for sequencing of Greater Gorgon fields
- Provide IPM support to the portfolio management project analysing alternative development options in the region
- Develop and update material balance models for the Greater Gorgon assets
- Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers and contracting parties that provide technical support to the Greater Gorgon Project
- Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices
Key skills and experience include:
- Tertiary qualified with relevant experience in petroleum or reservoir engineering
- Competence in reservoir simulations, integrated production modelling, integrated asset modelling and production data analysis
- Demonstrated experience with Visual Basic and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to coordinate petroleum engineering activities in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
