Business Development Consultant (DRS/AS/271)



DRS-London is an International research and selection consultancy, specialising in the Technical and Commercial Oil & Gas industry. Headquartered in St James's Square, Central London we handle appointments in key Oil & Gas disciplines ranging from Intermediate through to Senior Management and Board level.

Our clients include major E&P companies, Mid-sized Independents, Investment Banks, Hedge Funds and Energy Consultancies. DRS prides itself on an acute understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and offerˇ¦s an informed, dynamic approach to search and selection. DRS are currently seeking to recruit a bright, versatile and hardworking Business Development Consultant to assist the Client Director in the acquisition of new business and the maintenance of existing client relationships.

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake new research and monitor market developments relating to pre-defined clients and potential areas of market entry
  • Assist in the maintenance of existing relationships, overseeing co-ordination of client focused campaigns when required
  • Assist in drafting and dispatching business development communication to International oil & gas clients
  • Identify suitable networking events and oil & gas conferences, determining opportunities of market exposure for DRS
  • Identify a wide range of advertising portals for DRS to conduct marketing campaigns
  • Utilise current Oil & Gas network to identify present contacts within relevant organisations
  • Conduct market research to identify new points of contact within the aligned organisation
  • Assist in the composition of detailed job briefs and candidate mandates
  • Oversee co-ordination of DRS organised networking events for Senior Executives within commercial and technical Oil & Gas
  • Co-ordinate with DRS candidate team to relay current projects and activity breakdownˇ¦s on weekly and monthly basis
  • Maintain client database for maximum efficiency

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • An undergraduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in a subject allied to the Oil & Gas / Banking and Finance sector but not a pre-requisite
  • Current knowledge of the oil & gas sector from either an industry or banking & finance perspective. This may have been gained through employment or via advanced level courses from a leading UK/US university
  • Excellent organisational, database and people facing skills and be able to tactfully leverage the unique client and candidate networks of DRS-London to develop and crystallise client relationships.
  • A dynamic approach to expanding client networks and increasing DRS-Londonˇ¦s market exposure
  • A strong work ethic with the discipline to work independently. The ability to diligently carry out tasks that require attention to detail is vital
  • An ambitious approach with a desire to succeed, a sporting background would be beneficial
  • The ability to confidently take on tasks beyond the role remit as and when required
