Our client is currently recruiting for a number of Geologists to work in their Geo - Steering centre.

The role will be involved with the following:

• To work in the geological well design and to monitor wells while drilling
• To perform real time geosteering duties (Monitoring wells at vertical section, build section etc) and close monitoring of horizontal wells to maintain wells in the desired part of the reservoir (you should have experience of 10 horizontal wells or more)
• To pick casing point, coring point and set well at landing point properly.
• To calculate well performance indices, write and compile well completion reports at the end of each well.
• To perform reservoir characterization duties.

Obviously we expect you to have experience with software such as Openwork-Stratwork or its equivalents. The role is expected to be for a 12 month contract although there maybe rolling 3 or 6 month contracts available, we will have clarification in early December.

We have recently introduced a number of candidates to the client with 4 commencing work in the next 2 weeks so have a good understanding of the actual reality of the package, benefits, visa and living arrangements in the area concerned.

The role is likely to start in January or February.

Required Skills/Experience: You must have at least 7 years experience in a similar role. Good english language skills, ideally a native speaker.

Required Qualifications: Obviously as an absolute minimum a relevant degree however the client would ideally like to see further advanced qualifications in the relevant areas and at times will accept this in lieu to a certain amount of specific field experience.
