Trainee Drilling Engineers -
North Sea and International

Location: East of England

The Company:

Fraser Offshore Ltd is a project management company providing well engineering services for North Sea oil and gas companies. Based in the East of England, we specialise in planning and delivery of the North Sea's most challenging wells - deep gas from Permian and Carboniferous reservoirs.

Established in 2004, we currently employ 26 people including drilling superintendents, drilling engineers, offshore supervisors and support disciplines. We are expanding our workforce to meet an exciting range of opportunities, covering the well construction requirements of four major clients.

Our shorebase is at the Beacon Innovation Centre, a modern, high-quality facility near Great Yarmouth in the East of England. As the offshore drilling industry positions itself to meet rising energy demand, there is an increasing need for skilled engineers to plan and execute offshore oil and gas wells. This is exacting work requiring high standards of technical competency together with well-developed leadership and communication abilities. For those capable of meeting the standard, a career in well engineering offers financial rewards and opportunities across the globe.

The Job:

A programme is in place to train graduate drilling professionals. Commencing Summer 2008, the programme will expose trainees to all aspects of well delivery - from drilling rig operations to conceptual well design. Candidates will start at the sharp end as a Roustabout on an offshore rig and will progress through a structured sequence of classroom and hands-on training to engineering and supervisory positions onshore and offshore.

Training will be tailored to the needs of individual candidates. Mentoring by experienced engineers and offshore supervisors is an integral part of the programme.

Applicants must be positive, dynamic and results-orientated. The training programme will be intensive and will require a high level of commitment. Oil and gas industry experience is not essential but may be beneficial. We prefer applicants to have an engineering or earth sciences degree plus a minimum of one - three years post-degree work experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team in a challenging and highly rewarding industry. If this is a challenge which inspires you, e-mail for further information to: cwhelan@fraseroffshore.com
