Structural Geologist

GETECH is looking to hire a structural geologist to join our rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists. GETECH has a growing international reputation in tectonics and plate modelling and client demand for our services is increasing. The successful candidate will work within the Structural Geology Group.

The post is based in our head office in Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales, and offers the opportunity for world-wide travel to the offices of our international clients. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individual's experience, would be offered.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a proven knowledge of structural geology, especially rift geology
• Have experience at regional and local scale
• Hold a higher degree in Geology or Geophysics (at least MSc level)
• Have strong numeracy and IT skills
• Possess excellent communications skills and be fluent in English

The role will include the following:

• Providing structural support for our regional and basin-scale petroleum studies
• Structural restoration using MOVE and 2D MOVE
• Developing geodynamic models of passive margins
• Coordinating and writing reports
• Visiting and interacting with clients(including international travel)

Evaluation of applications will start on 20^th April, 2012.
