Data Management Consultants
Our client, a global player and currently at the forefront of innovative and integrated geological & geophysical interpretation technologies and software, are restructuring and growing fast.
They currently have a number of exciting opportunities for Data Management Consultants, specializing in Seismic Data, to provide customer support for their "state of the art" Seismic Data Management and Acquisition solutions.
Working within a G&G team, and using dedicated tools and processes, you will be tasked with providing timely, professional analyses and quality control of existing 2D & 3D seismic data products as well as preparing, loading and entitling data on behalf of the client's G&G user community.

- Analyses of legacy seismic 2D & 3D data
- Reviewing, QC and repair of these data on disk including performing full data preparation prior to loading
- Load the prepared data into the Company's data management application system
- Loading of Navigation and Post Stack SEG-Y plus associated data products
- Manage the data through GIS systems. (Tools are available enabling an integrated view of information from multiple external databases as well as data stored in master store)
- Handling varied media types
- Liasing with the client to fully understand and deliver the service
- Maintaining excellent data tracking and auditing reports
- Ensuring established data management procedures are fully adhered to
- Ensuring that data is available on-time and in the correct format for clients
Suitable candidates will be qualified to degree (or equivalent) level in a related Geosciences or computer science subject and have a minimum of 5 years experience with excellent communication skills, together with knowledge of various geosciences data types, (e.g. Seismic, Post Stack, Navigation data etc.) and related formats.
Ideally you will be experienced in Technical Competencies including:
- Data domain knowledge - Post Stack Data; Pre Stack and Field Data; Navigation Data and relevant data formats
- Good computer skills essential (UNIX knowledge an distinct advantage)
- Petroleum data standards (UKOOA; SEG-Y etc.) knowledge required
- Familiarity with current data acquisition, processing and geophysical technique
- Sound knowledge of data management techniques and Geographic Projection Systems
- Experience loading seismic data into G&G applications is desirable
- Good client-facing skills with the ability to communicate and understand the technical requirements of seismic data management life cycle
- Good project management skills working to exacting deadlines and times scales
- Self-motivated, proactive, with the ability to resolve or escalate problems until resolved
- Ability to pay great attention to detail and be meticulous with a high focus on quality control
- A 'can do' attitude to problem solving
