Geoscience Publisher


The successful applicant will join the Exploration Insights Division, responsible for ensuring the timely publication of products to our clients. The applicant will need to ensure material is on brand, and delivered on time and to our defined and consistent high standards. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a strong team player. Considerable time spent working across other teams and divisions based remotely will be involved. The candidate must be well-organised and capable of working under minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Comprehensive experience within the scientific publishing domain
  • A science-based (ideally geoscience or physical geography) honours degree
  • Experience in using the suite of Adobe products (InDesign, Acrobat)
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English

The following additional skills would be beneficial:

  • Knowledge of database applications (SQL Server, MS Access) and ESRI ArcGIS software
  • Knowledge of a foreign language would be advantageous
  • A demonstrable interest in Geoscience

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Quality assurance of products with respect to reference standards, including proof ready copy
  • Working with geoscience teams to ensure staff adhere to workflows and to help design workflow efficiencies
  • Work with content teams to progress product workflows ensure delivery of content to client is timely
  • Be active within R+D and push for new innovative functionality within the suite of products
  • Work closely with the technical support team and ensure the various delivery methods remain robust
  • Responsibility for managing and populating the product tracking database which tracks the progress of products against defined workflows and contains content with pertinent information for audit trail purposes
  • Compile reports on behalf of leadership team for senior management
