Assistant/Associate Professor - Petroleum Engineering

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant or Associate Professor in Petroleum Engineering to the Institute of Petroleum Engineering (IPE) in the School of Energy, Geoscience Infrastructure and Society (EGIS) at Heriot-Watt University.
The post holder will be expected to make excellent contributions to the teaching and research activities within IPE in the field of petroleum engineering. In particular, the post holder will be expected to take an active leadership role in IPE's flagship MSc programme in Petroleum Engineering, which is delivered at Heriot-Watt University's campuses in Edinburgh, Dubai, and Malaysia, at our international Approved Learning Partners, and through many hundred independent learners around the globe. The post holder will also be expected to actively contribute to the broad research activities at IPE.
The successful applicant will hold a PhD degree in petroleum engineering or a related field, or can demonstrate equivalent experience. Candidates with industry experience are particularly welcomed to apply. While this position will be open to candidates who have experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering, we particularly welcome applications from candidates who have a background in one of the following areas
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player who has the capability to provide outstanding leadership to IPE's flagship MSc programme, deliver excellent teaching, attract external funding, author high-quality publications, develop an independent research team, and can work in close collaboration with other disciplines (internally and externally) relevant to the oil and gas industry.
