Ikon Science Ltd is the fast growing, leading provider of independent software and Quantitative interpretation (QI) services to the upstream and technology segment of the oil and gas business. We are now recruiting for the following positions:


Sales/Business Development Manager


Competitive Package including Commission

This is a diverse international sales role to capitalise on Ikon's superior technical market offerings and increasing demand for our services. You will report to the Vice President Ikon Science EAME and be regionally based in the Europe Africa and Middle East EAME area. The role is primarily business development /sales and marketing representative for key accounts across sales region. You will be required to promote business development opportunities and extensive overseas travel should be expected.

Key requirements:

  • A proven track record in sales and business development
  • Degree level education in geophysics or other relevant technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience
  • Ability to learn and sell complex geophysical solutions to oil company clients, and liaise with technical, commercial and legal functions within both client companies and Ikon
  • Fluent in English, further language skills useful but not essential
  • Self-starter, self-disciplined, target focused, results driven individual that works well under pressure
  • Effective in negotiation and closure of deals

Senior Geoscientist

Competitive Package

Reporting to the Head of Quantitative Interpretation and primarily based in West London, with international travel required. Your activities will include: rock physics, velocity modelling, well-to-seismic interpretation, acoustic rock and fluid properties analysis, reservoir property modelling, amplitude and AVO assessment, volume interpretation, seismic inversion, pore-pressure prediction and integration with other geophysical techniques such as EM.

Key requirements:

  • As a minimum a good honours degree in Geophysics, Geology, Geophysics or other earth or physical science
  • 10 - 15 years oil industry experience (North Sea and EAME)
  • Comprehensive industry experience of geophysical interpretation, processing and inversion
  • A knowledge of the main interpretation platforms: Petrel, Kingdom, Landmark, Hampson-Russell and RokDocŪ or equivalent applications
  • Practical experience in the use of AVO/AVA analysis, borehole seismic, synthetic seismograms, inverse modelling, forward modelling, fluid substitution modelling and basic reservoir engineering
