International Resource Consulting is currently recruiting on behalf of Australia's largest and most successful operator who are investing heavily in their International New ventures exploration team after continued success following similar investment in other parts of the world in the last 2/3 years.

The Position

Senior level Explorationist preferably with SE Asia and/or Brazil experience. The ideal candidate would have many but not necessarily all of the following attributes:

• Geology/Geophysists (advanced degree preferred) with 7 -20 years industry experience, preferably with an Operator
• Persons should be able to work and mature a prospect from its initial lead conception to a drill ready status
• A play-based knowledge of exploration methodologies and is critical, Yet-to-Find experience would be a bonus
• Strong knowledge of sequence stratigraphic analysis, structural geology, subsurface and seismic mapping is essential
• Experience in 2D/3D seismic interpretation is essential
• Working knowledge of probabilistic volumetric assessment tools would be desirable
• Strong technical background in the practical application of geological and geophysical technologies such as 2D and 3D seismic reflection data and their derivative products (AVO/AVA, inverse and forward modelling, poststack and prestack time & depth migration)
• Knowledge of velocity modelling, synthetics, fluid substitution modelling, would be desirable
• Working knowledge of well-log analysis, petrophysics, risk evaluation, velocity fields, borehole seismic, potential fields, geochemistry, sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and basic reservoir engineering
• Working knowledge & experience of geoscientific applications such as HampsonRussell, Petrosys, ArcGIS, and VoxelGeo would be an advantage
• Willing to take a leadership role in the development & application of new exploration technologies
• The candidate must be able to work independently and but should also have strong teamwork skills
• Knowledge of portfolio and project management, strategic planning, process analysis would be advantageous
• This position requires someone who is motivated, possesses good written & verbal communication skills, problem solving skills
• Carbonate experience would be an advantage
