Jacobs University Bremen, a nonprofit English medium campus university in the north of Germany, is offering an Executive Master Programme for professionals in petroleum systems modelling and prospect generation. Covering the interface between current state-of-art geo-scientific insights and numerical simulation, we would like to show you how the BPSD Masters - short for Basin and Petroleum System Dynamics - can help your geoscientist staff grow their skills, earn an executive MSc degree part-time, and integrate the learnings straight into the workplace.
Classes are taught in English by hand-picked world renowned experts from the field. The student/teacher ratio typically is 8:1 - this is an intense programme! - and Jacobs University provides full access to state of the art infrastructure and equipment. Housing is arranged right on campus with fully equipped rooms and apartments only 'a walk away' from the course location. We also welcome participants with families.
The next BPSD Master programme is scheduled to begin in August 2017. It is offered part-time, intensive 18 month degree program with classes taught in 11 blocks of one week each over a period of 10-12 month. The last 6 months are reserved for the MSc Thesis project. Additionally, two field excursions, one in Germany and one in Italy, are an important element of the program. If the participants wish, they could take individual modules from the program and accumulate credits over one or more cohorts. The MSc thesis together with the accumulated credits from the lectures and excursions, qualifies participants to obtain the MSc title. There is sufficient scope within the program to modify aspects in order to meet requirements or fill any gaps.
BSc degree in Earth Sciences or related field AND 3-5 years of hydrocarbon industry experience and proven command of English (e.g. TOEFEL etc.)
