Asset Manager - Overview

JX Nippon Exploration and Production UK Ltd is an Oil & Gas Exploration company based in London. JXNEPUK are part of the JX Group of Companies, a global organisation whose headquarters are in Tokyo.

Our London office covers one of the three upstream core regions across the world that has been tasked with growing the business globally. In December 2012 JXNEPUK announced the acquisition of a package of assets that will result in our North Sea production increasing from 9kboepd in 2011 to 50 kboepd in 2020. JXNEPUK is an Operator in the exploration phase and has an expanding exploration, development and production portfolio.

Principal Accountabilities

The Job holder shall take lead managerial and relationship responsibility for designated JX non-operated assets in the UKCS in active conjunction with the rest of the team and report to the Manager of Production Operations.

  • Representing JX at partnership technical, commercial and operating committee meetings, as appropriate. Taking a lead role in managing specific asset performance, influencing operators to desired operational and commercial ends consistent with JX's strategy and goals. Acting as the lead relationship manager with designated operator at the operational level.,
  • Actively promoting HSE performance in line with JX's internal goals and objectives and in collaboration with the Operator, and to provide critical overview of Operator's HSE performance, measurement and reporting.
  • The post holder will work with the Head of Production Operations and other Departmental representatives as required to achieve defined goals and must create positive and co-operative relationships with other JX staff.
  • Through active relationship management with operators and partners as appropriate proactively propose strategies to maximise the value of JX Assets and identify and mitigate Asset risks
  • Work with Head of Production Operations, Head of Developments and Head of Business Development and Commercial to develop and maintain a coherent asset strategy for each development; input into the JX three-year plan and budget (e.g. currently, PP2 1Q 2013 to 1Q 2015); compare and contrast and where possible reconcile with operators plans;
  • Identify opportunities to maximise JX's share of production, to improve operating efficiencies and influence operators to realise any production gains or recovery enhancements gains as appropriate;
  • Review and recommend operating strategies and budget proposals and keep costs and cost control at the centre of asset management activity;
  • Assist in analysing and negotiating complex commercial issues, plans and forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation and update of Production Forecasts.
  • Liaise with and manage consultants as required.
