Medium/Large sized global operator seeks a Senior Drilling Engineer to lead an exciting development project in the North Sea. Working out of Stavanger, the successful candidate will be working with a team of approximately 30 engineers, undertaking moderate/deepwater development drilling commencing October 2010. You will act as a mentor and have previous experience of leading projects and training more inexperienced drilling engineers.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Tubular and wellhead design including assistance with tendering Operations and Well planning
• Directional well planning
• AFE costing
• Compliance with Norwegian and company regulations
• cost estimates
• risk assessment
• quality control
• Liaising with other technical staff to ensure accurate and effective execution

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience working in moderate/deep water drilling, as well as previous experience working on the Norwegian continental shelf. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact effectively with others, motivate staff and to work to deadlines. Previous experience as a Senior Drilling Engineer is a must, as the successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and take a lead role in their existing well established team.
