Well established small/medium sized global operator is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to lead an exciting new project working out of their Stavanger office in Norway.

The successful candidate will be responsible for new exploration projects commencing July 2010. You will be part of a team of three, with at least two personnel remaining onshore in Stavanger at all times. You must also be prepared to step into a Drilling Superintendent role where necessary.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Detailed operations planning, well planning and subsequent technical support during the execution of exploration and appraisal wells.
• insuring accurate pore pressure/fracture gradient analyses are performed
• Directional well planning
• AFE costing
• Compliance with Norwegian and company regulations
• cost estimates
• risk assessment
• quality control
• Liaising with other technical staff to ensure accurate and effective execution

The ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience working as a Senior Drilling Engineer, ideally with 3 years working on the Norwegian Continental shelf. Offshore experience is a must (minimum three years also) ideally as a Drilling Superintendant. You will also have a proven record of running a rig independently and display excellent inter-personal and motivational qualities.
