Neftex is a rapidly growing UK company and a leading international geoscience business. Our main activity is the monthly publication of the world’s most detailed commercially-available 4D plate tectonic and stratigraphic model – the Neftex Earth Model. It has been built with the support of our clients, many of the world’s largest national, major and independent resource companies, and is published using state-of-the-art web-mapping technologies. We are now moving our Earth Model into adjacent finance, groundwater and publishing sectors. Neftex has a very strong research ethos to support our client base.

The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the global marketing and sales effort of Neftex’s growing suite of Earth Model products. The candidate will assist the design of promotional materials, will visit international clients to overview these materials and will liase with geoscience and marketing and sales staff in managing client feedback. The candidate must have excellent inter-personal skills, be well organised, a team player, and have demonstrable expertise in marketing geoscience products. The ideal candidate will have:

• A geoscience background and excellent academic qualifications;
• At least five years industry experience of client-facing industry activity;
• Excellent inter-personal skills, be a self-starter, a team-player and be self-confident;
• A willingness to travel internationally and the ability to work away from the office;
• A mature work ethic, an eye for detail, excellent command of written and spoken English.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Interaction with global industry to promote understanding of our products and services;
• Working with Neftex and contractor staff to develop suitable promotional material;
• Preparation of promotional materials ranging all the way up to fully interactive use of ArcGIS, PaleoGIS, Petrel, ODM and other relevant software;
• Participation in international promotional events (conferences, industry forums etc.).

Language skills are desirable, as is knowledge of standard industry software (e.g. Petrel, ArcGIS).
