New Ventures
Lead & Senior Exploration Geoscientists

St James’s, London

The opportunity to spearhead our new ventures drive West of Shetland (WOS) and in the Atlantic Margin areas.

OMV, one of Austria’s largest businesses, is an integrated energy group. In E&P we have global interests with operations in Central & Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the Caspian region, Australasia, and North-West Europe (including the UK). We have oil and gas reserves of approximately 1.12 billion boe and our worldwide daily production amounts to more than 300,000 boe/d.

OMV has been a UK upstream player for over 20 years. Our focus area is the WOS and the Atlantic Margin, where we have major asset investments in the exploration, appraisal and development phases. We have key development projects underway including the Rosebank project and we are engaged in a $4 billion redevelopment of the producing Schiehallion asset, which should prolong field life to 2035 and beyond. In the past few weeks we have concluded a landmark deal with Statoil valued at $2.65 billion, involving multiple assets in the UK and Norway and leading to increases in our stakes in Rosebank and Schiehallion. Our UK production is set to quadruple in the next 10 years.

We are setting up a small team of geoscientists (at Lead & Senior levels) to explore for new ventures WOS and in the Atlantic Margins. We are looking for people who are capable of both the timely and insightful analysis of opportunities brought to our attention, and the generation of a proactive technical strategy through the development of a proprietary understanding at the regional and prospect scales. Both roles require people with commercial mind-sets and previous WOS and exploration new ventures experience.

We offer an excellent salary and benefits package. However, most of all, this is the chance to take on a critical and visible “hands-on” role at a time of significant and assured growth, where you will influence our future activities and strategy as the UK business develops.

For a confidential discussion please call Liz Gardner at our retained consultants Simpson Crowden LLP on +44 (0)207 016 9768 or +44 (0)7801 711372. To apply, please email your CV to omv@simpsoncrowden.com quoting reference R270.

CVs sent directly to OMV will not be considered.
