Oolithica Geoscience Ltd is a small dynamic geological consultancy, based in Cheltenham and serving the oil and gas industry. Specialising in carbonate and clastic sedimentology, we solve our client's problems through the integration of sedimentology with other geoscience datasets. Our activities are international, covering Africa, the Middle and Far East, as well as the UK and European Petroleum Provinces.
Position Description:
We have two new vacancies for talented carbonate sedimentologists. One post will be at junior level and the successful applicant should have a recent relevant M.Sc. or Ph.D. The second post is for a more experienced applicant who should be a Ph.D. graduate with at least 2 years relevant work experience.
Both posts require a strong background in carbonate sedimentology including depositional modelling, sequence stratigraphic correlation, petrography, diagenesis and reservoir quality evaluation. Applicants should be team players, willing to learn and self motivated, with the confidence and ability to occasionally work independently in remote locations. A willingness to travel abroad on work assignments is essential.
