 Principal Contracts Engineer - UKPrincipal Contracts Engineer - Global HQ Our client a major International Operator is looking for a Principal Contracts Engineer to be based in our clients Global Headquarters. The Principal Contracts Engineer will be responsible for managing key strategic direction for our client's global drilling rig contracting activity to ensure access to suitable fleet capability to deliver forward business plan and growth aspirations. Maintain overview of forward demand requirements and develop suitable strategies to ensure company assets are ahead of competitors and responsive to market conditions. Responsible for maintaining key relationships with Well Engineering management team and maintaining the profile of rig contracting at Executive level. The successful candidate will have influences over company expenditures of £1-1.5bn annually Duties Maintain overview of the company's current and future rig requirements Maintain key interfaces with Assets and projects Develop overall strategic rig contracting direction Influence and where required mandate strategic direction Deliver market intelligence across the Assets Maintain relationships with all key rig contractors Improve technical assurance capabilities Requirements Either a well experienced contracts professional with significant experience in contracting drilling rigs in both offshore and onshore environment, may also suit a commercially minded Well Engineer interested in broadening into commercial areas. Individual must have understanding of market conditions and dynamics associated with contracting drilling units. Individual must possess ability to understand technical issues associated with contracting drilling units and be able to converse confidently with Well Engineering teams. Bachelor degree or equivalent required. Must be mobile for international business travel Behavioural Characteristics Confident self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and capable of setting personal objectives and agenda to meet business requirements.
