Subsea Controls Engineer - Malaysia



An international oil and gas operating company has a requirement for a Subsea Controls Engineer to work on a major overseas oil production operation. The position will be based in Malaysia. This appointment will be on a 1-3 year contract basis. The rate will be internationally competitive and is dependent upon the experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. Must be willing to travel as and when required by Company.

Duties

  • Coordinate all activities associated with operation of a 16 well subsea control system; maintenance, inspection, software upgrades, system troubleshooting, SCM refurbishments etc.
  • Support ongoing controls equipment commissioning
  • Provide controls support to field expansion projects
  • Continuously develop control equipment integrity strategies
  • Compliance with Company and industry standards and Safety leadership in all aspects of work
  • Transfer of technology to Malaysian workforce

Experience

  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 15 years previous experience with electro-hydraulic multiplexed subsea control systems and subsea instruments. Umbilical experience also preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Candidate should hold current Offshore Survival & Medical Certificates and be fluent in both oral and written English.
