![]() Global Petrophyiscal Advisor - EnglandGlobal Petrophysical Advisor Reporting to the Head of Petrophysics the incumbent would be responsible for providing petrophysics support within the company world-wide from the global HQ in the UK, and supporting the development of petrophysics capabilities within the company as a whole in accordance with Petrophysics discipline strategy. Duties To support the Head of Petrophysics in developing petrophysical capacities and capabilities. • To develop and maintain close working relationships with asset teams, and use their expertise to design and ensure delivery of effective petrophysical data acquisition campaigns in accordance with standards and best practices. Petrophysical relates to all non-seismic wellbore data, including mud log, LWD and wireline logs, and fluid and core analysis data. • Where necessary, to manage and coordinate contractor activities in relation to the acquisition, and post-acquisition processing, of petrophysical data in conformance with good HSSE practices. • To manage the interpretation of petrophysical data in support of technical and commercial objectives (e.g. quantifying volumes of producible hydrocarbons in place and their production characteristics in an integrated way, provide support to the wider team to evaluate the validity of seismic direct hydrocarbon indicators, develop geomechanical models, and assist with the construction of fit-for-purpose reservoir models). Work must be sufficiently robust to be presented at internal functional and Readiness Reviews and partner meetings. • To mentor other personnel working within the petrophysics discipline, where appropriate. • To work as a proactive member of the global petrophysics community, to highlight areas were technical support and development work can be effectively deployed to improve asset operations, to share experience and knowledge and build functional excellence, and to undertake activities in conformance with standards and recommended best practices. • To promote the development and application of improved petrophysical practices, through the technology programme • To be available, when necessary, to undertake international travel in support of the above duties. This post also carries with it possible future opportunities for domestic and expatriate postings to asset teams. Requirements Must be a self starter with good decision-taking skills with ability to plan and organise workload effectively and a proven ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers, partners and 3rd parties to influence decisions or ways of working. • Leadership skills in procuring and managing additional support for ad hoc studies from internal parties and contractors. • Good working knowledge of PVT, CCA, SCAL, Rock Physics, and Geomechanics. • Experienced and versatile petrophysicist able to demonstrate experience in the use of petrophysics within the four areas of operations management, formation evaluation, development de-risking (i.e. geomechanics, rock physics modelling) and reservoir surveillance for both clastic and carbonate reservoirs; as well as an ability to interface effectively with other subsurface disciplines. • Good IT skills using Microsoft Office products. A working knowledge of Recall/Review would be an advantage. • Experience of performing evaluations for M&A activity from data rooms.
