Senior Drilling Engineering Advisor - Tubulars / Connections POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Drilling Engineering Advisor - Tubulars / Connections will provide global Tubular and OCTG connection engineering support for my client's development, drilling projects and producing assets. The position requires experience with and knowledge of the all production and drilling OTCG tubulars goods, as well as API and premium connections. Candidates should have experience with design, qualification testing and application of this equipment. Additionally, the successful candidate in this role must have an understanding of oil and gas production, drilling and development operations. Normal job duties will be to provide in-house technical expertise and engineering consultation on all types of tubular and connections, as well as their application in support of development, drilling and production operations within the upstream exploration and production business. This position will require domestic and international travel.
ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical expertise on OCTG Tubulars and connections in the upstream business including design, testing and qualification and consultation on troubleshooting equipment problems.
Provide engineering consultation to technical staff and E&P leadership on Tubulars and connection selection, well design and equipment applications and running prodecures.
Stay current with the latest technology developments in the area of OCTG Tubulars and connections. Evaluate the technologies for potential application and assist the operating units with the proper application and evaluation of new technologies Attend and/or participate in various SPE meetings, as well as be active in the API committees Review well designs and provide technical recommendations for the application. Be capable of making equipment recommendations for subsea, surface and severe service applications, including OCTG applications in alloy equipment Assist operating units with troubleshooting and diagnostics of OCTGrelated problems and development of cost-effective solutions. Engage with manufacturers and suppliers to develop non standard equipment if necessary Review company practices with respect to industry standards and trends; develop and implement changes to company standards and best practices.
Teach periodic internal classes on Casing and tubing design, including connection selection criteria, and optimization to the upstream E&P business SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Extensive experience of both casing and tubing systems for Development, Drilling and Production applications. Also very familiar with connections and their capacities in various applications Must be knowledgeable of operating and maintenance issues associated with tubulars and connections.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) Professional Engineering Registration is strongly preferred.
