They have a current requirement for a Lead Development Geophysicist to provide geoscientific expertise to support the evaluation of new field development opportunities from my clients portfolio as well as providing support to the Exploration and Business Development group to evaluate acquisition opportunities and monitor the company's non-operated portfolio. Provide Leadership in the Development Geophysics discipline. Key Responsibilties and Tasks • Develop the understanding of the subsurface reservoir distribution, in-place hydrocarbons and technical reserves of our exploration discoveries to facilitate future development planning. • Provide geophysical capability throughout the field development planning process including assessment of the structural framework, reservoir characterisation, and probabilistic in-place volumes. • Recommend and commission external geophysical studies • Manage sub-contractors providing specialist services to the development team. • Ensure geophysical discipline staff receive coaching • Ensure geophysical work is adequately QA/QC'd as part of the Staged Delivery process • Interview and make recommendation on the employment of new hires. • Attendance at datarooms, as required, and geophysical input into technical evaluations of potential acquisition opportunities to support the Business Development Group. • Involvement with well operations as required (example - well planning, drilling operations) • Writing Field Development Plans/Technical Memorandum/Investment Proposals. • Present at and also organise third party meetings • Active participation on committees • Publicise my client by presenting papers at conferences. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience • Education in geoscience to an MSc level or higher is preferred with a strong technical background in quantitative seismic reservoir characterization seismic interpretation and static geological model construction. • Have demonstrable industry experience in field development planning and exploration work with a track record of producing quality results within a time bound environment. • Skilled in use of geoscience 3D interpretation and reservoir characterisation toolkits - Seisworks & Petrel and reservoir volume uncertainty estimation, scenario modelling & value of information techniques • Proven ability to identify new scope volumes & formulate associated development concepts & plans whilst maintaining focus on the key risks and uncertainties. • Ability to analyse and interpret and make a recommendation having little data or a lot of data • Knowledge of the business, project drivers and economics • Strong interpersonal skills, good communicator and confident presenter • Ability to plan and lead projects. • Aptitude to question and challenge in a constructive manner. • Be a self starter with drive, initiative and strong analytical and communication skills who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment.
