Perenco - Technologist



The Company

Perenco is a dynamic international Exploration and Production Company that has achieved spectacular growth over the last ten years. It has built its net production up to 200,000 boepd and its operated production up to 280,000 boepd. Following recent acquisitions and awards, Perenco has now established operations in 16 countries with key producing regions in UKCS, West Africa and South America. The company is committed to further expansion, and as such is seeking to recruit a number of positions within the Exploration team as a key part of that expansion.

The Position

Based in Perenco's Head Office in Chelsea, west London, and reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the successful candidate will provide a wide range of technical support to the London Exploration group.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Geophysical and geological data loading and transfer to and between Petrel, Kingdom and Landmark databases and applications
  • Map generation, geo-referencing , digitising and file manipulation in ArcGIS
  • Physical data handling, cataloguing and administration of geoscience data and records
  • Review, repair and maintenance of existing projects and databases
  • General geoscience data manipulation

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A science degree (Geoscience preferred)
  • A sound understanding of the oil & gas business and an interest in petroleum geoscience
  • A strong technical background, numerate and have significant IT expertise: strong PC and (ideally) UNIX/LINUX skills are essential
  • Good communication and organisational skills with a strong desire to learn
  • The capacity to multi-task support for all the exploration teams and to work towards tight deadlines

Knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be an advantage, given Perenco's many overseas offices, and very diverse work force, but the official language of the London office is English.

A highly competitive salary is offered, plus a discretionary performance related bonus, contributory pension scheme and life assurance. 25 days holiday plus additional bonus days off after three years service.
