Senior Reservoir Engineer

Outstanding package + significant equity

Our client is a small independent operator, with interests in Africa and the Middle East. The company has recently announced a very significant discovery, and will now be embarking of a program of early appraisal and pre-development planning. In addition the company is committed to a program of exploration drilling in the highly prospective adjacent blocks within the same trend. We now have a retained instruction to recruit an outstanding Reservoir Engineer with strong development planning expertise and a developed understanding of production engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • At least 10 - 15+ years experience, ideally with an operator on large field developments
  • Particular experience in development engineering from a grass roots level through to full FDP
  • Developed understanding of G&G, Petrophysics, well operations, production engineering and E&P Economics.
  • Able to prepare reservoir development plans and capital costs forecast.
  • Field depletion plans, - create robust development scenarios for fields: well types, number location, timing.
  • Experience in PVT and special core analysis
  • Knowledge of production engineering - well design, completion, re-completion, down-hole metering, production data requirements for artificial lift and optimisation.
  • Involvement in the management of engineering contracts.
  • Participate in TCM,s Partner and Govt. meetings with approximately 6 trips per annum overseas..
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) combined with high quality report writing, able to write a competent persons report.
  • Influencing and team collaboration skills, able to work within a small technical team and JV partners.
  • Engineering and Geoscience applications experience with developed knowledge of one of the major industry Simulation packages (e.g. Eclipse, VIP etc )
  • Demonstrable success as a reservoir Engineer, with proficiency in a broad range of reservoir engineering subjects.
  • Some experience in production operations for large fields desirable.

Experience

Applicants will

Have a solid grounding in Reservoir Engineering, with a strong development background and a fundamental knowledge or production/operations engineering.

  • Engineering degree preferably with chartered status
  • Operator experience, with large field development exposure (from early stage)
  • Member of relevant professional institution
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and able to represent the company externally
  • Ability to motivate others to ensure that the company's objectives are delivered - with the inter-personnel skills to listen to the views of others and capture good ideas.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity in working in remote locations
  • Strong team ethic in project management (cost, schedule quality and HSEQ) etc.
  • Must be able to multi-task - able to wear several technical hats in a small team environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language - useful though not essential)
  • Knowledge of UK health safety and environmental legislation

A very generous package includes equity on joining + LTIP (upto100% of base salary per annum)
