We are instructed to recruit an experienced, credible and highly skilled lead Petroleum Engineer, responsible for global petroleum engineering functional leadership. Applicants will have very broad technical and commercial skills. This role will involve leading and advising the International business units, to ensure functional excellence, covering both production and reservoir engineering. You will also provide significant input to reservoir engineering business services and advise in such areas as, field economics, reserves and the audit process, so sound commercial skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Provide petroleum engineering leadership to business unit production and development teams, with regular oversight, reviews, visits etc.
Responsible for ensuring conformance with petroleum engineering standards and best practice within BU production & development teams.
Provide guidance and advice to management with respect to investment memoranda, potential acquisitions and project development process.
Provide ad-hoc support to the exploration group.
Provide occasional participation in new business opportunities screening (data rooms etc)
Support production forecasting and facilitate audit by 3rd party reserves auditors.
Requirements
15-20+ years experience in upstream oil & gas (exploration & production).
Classical reservoir & petroleum engineering skills.
Good working knowledge of production technology, drilling, facilities and petroleum economics.
Fluent network modelling & production forecasting skills (MBAL, Prosper, GAP).
Confident outgoing personality, with well honed people skills, to interface, drive and lead within the UK and International business units.
A visionary team player, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage business pressures.
