- Develop and manage an efficient and commercially robust contracts and procurement function to support the company's operations.
- Ensure contracting activities comply with company policy, legislation, good business practice and ethics.
- Participate in project planning and the provision of advice to support managers in contract review, tendering, procurement and approvals
- Develop and manage relationships with the company's main suppliers, partners and internal departments (Legal, Finance, Ops .etc) in relation to contracting and procurement issues.
- Manage and monitor contracts to ensure compliance and compliance issues are resolved and that the relevant bonds, certificates and guarantees are in place.
- Partake and when required lead contract negotiations
- Ensure internal staff are familiar with contracting mechanisms and documentation and receive appropriate training where required.
- Ensure necessary contract performance management systems and audits are in place to ensure company's interests are being maintained.
- Liaise with executive management, finance, legal and operations within the UK and overseas offices.
- Occasional overseas travel when required.
Requirements
- 10-15 years experience in contracts management, with 5 years + gained in the upstream oil and gas sector.
- Proven experience in the drafting of contracts covering facilities, operational and consultancy services.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work accurately to tight deadlines.
- Well organized and able to influence at the highest levels.
