Seismic Data Manager



Location: Aberdeen or London
Grade: 17
Salary Range: Up to £38,834 dependant on experience plus excellent flexible benefits.


Job Description:

SAIC are currently looking for Seismic Data Management Geoscientists to work within our Petrotechnical Global Data Management Teams based in the UK. The role is based at the client sites with the onsite Seismic Data Management Geoscientist acting as the focal point for all Seismic data management services. The main duties and responsibilities encompass the management of Seismic data types throughout the entire seismic data lifecycle; acquisition, processing, interpretation and archiving.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Duties Include:

  • Performing Seismic 2D & 3D data management in Seisworks, Petrel & Terrastation
  • Cultural data management within Seisworks & Petrel
  • Government reporting and seismic data submission compliance
  • Seismic entitlements management
  • Management of Seismic data release and trades
  • Seismic Physical media transfers
  • Data Archival and retrieval
  • Management of Data Rooms
  • Management of Seismic & Wells spatial layers within GIS systems
  • LicenceWeb Administration

Desired skills

  • Experience loading pre processed data to Promax
  • Experience of R5000.
  • An understanding of ITIL and CMMI support methodologies
  • Experience in working in a support organisation or environment within the Oil and Gas Industry would be an advantage

Education:

Ideally candidates will possess:

  • Previous experience in working within an oil company or service contractor within a technical services environment, preferably E&P data management or subsurface data management
  • Experience of Landmark Application Suite
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at SAIC or customer sites throughout the UK
  • A flexible, solution-oriented, "can do" attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, must enjoy communicating with customers and providing a professional service
  • Must be able to work as part of a team yet must have the confidence to work on tasks without supervision
  • Methodical and organised, with the desire to supply a high level of customer service
