Growth in Indonesia is one of Santos' key strategies. This is being achieved by development of existing assets like the Maleo and Peluang fields in Madura Offshore PSC, and the Oyong and Wortel fields in Sampang PSC within East Java, which has provided a solid foundation for development of Santos' business in Indonesia.

As the Geoscience & New Ventures Team Leader in Santos Indonesia you will have responsibility for technical leadership of all conventional Exploration and New Ventures geoscience work undertaken in the Jakarta office.

Santos' current conventional assets in Indonesia comprise two operated permits in East Java (Sampang PSC and Madura Offshore PSC) and one non-operated permit in Papua (Warim PSC). In addition to these conventional assets Santos also has 4 unconventional CBM permits in South Sumatra and has recently commenced an extensive exploration drilling program in this area (responsibility for the CBM program falls under the CBM Geoscience Team Leader). Santos has an ambitious growth strategy in Indonesia and your role as the Geoscience and New Ventures Team Leader is to successfully deliver conventional growth to Santos Indonesia.

The key focus of this role is successful execution of the growth strategy to acquire prospective new exploration acreage.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Regional studies: plan and execute regional studies to identify prospective areas of interest within Indonesia.
• Technical evaluations: define, execute and monitor detailed technical work programs (play and prospect evaluations, etc) to quantify prospective resource and risk estimates within areas of interest.
• Bid submissions: prepare and submit Joint Study Area (JSA) applications and Bid Round applications to secure the award of prospective new acreage.
• Current assets: monitor and manage the conventional exploration programs within current permits.
• New Ventures: lead and coordinate multidiscipline data room evaluations.
• Exploration skills development: mentor and coach national staff to promote geoscience skills development within the Jakarta office.

You will be a self-starter and have sufficient depth and breadth of experience to be able to provide technical leadership and mentoring to your team in Indonesia. Previous experience of living and working in Indonesia is highly desirable.

Specifically, you will require:

• A BSc or MSc degree related to Petroleum Geoscience.
• At least 15 years of experience with an operating E&P company.
• Extensive experience in conducting regional exploration studies and new ventures evaluations.
• Excellent organisational and communications skills (verbal and written English)
• Candidates will need to meet the necessary requirements for a work permit in Indonesia.
