Our client is a plc and an active operator focussed on Southeast Asia with several offices across the region. The company has an enviable portfolio of exploration, development and production assets, including a well established oil producing field located offshore in the Gulf of Thailand. Currently the company is undertaking a multiple-well development drilling campaign from its wellhead platform and is now seeking to add a Subsurface Team Leader to its senior technical and management team, based in Bangkok.

This is a new role responsible for leading a team of geoscientists and reservoir engineers involved in appraisal and development activities and reporting to the Subsurface Manager.

The appointee will provide leadership for all subsurface aspects of the operated field development, as well as non-operated areas and technical support for any new discoveries in exploration blocks. The role includes interface with other teams based in Singapore and Jakarta on a regional scale and liaison with drilling, production and corporate groups, as well as support of New Business Development initiatives.

The successful applicant will have a strong geoscience or reservoir engineering background in operated field developments and at least 15 years international experience, with major E&P companies. Our preference is to appoint someone with experience of living and working in SE Asia who is familiar with all technical facets of exploration, appraisal, development and production. Candidates should also demonstrate outstanding leadership ability and well developed communication skills.
