Our client, headquartered in Houston, is a global oil and gas company involved in exploration and production, refining and marketing. The Company has built an impressive portfolio of exploration and production assets in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South-East Asia, Africa and Australia. They are seeking to expand their oil and natural gas projects in the Australasian region in pursuit of long term growth and have recently been awarded the operatorship for three off-shore licences in Vietnam. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team as they embark on a new exploration program, as well continuing to evaluate new exploration opportunities. This role is responsible for providing the full spectrum of geophysical skills to the company’s international exploration and appraisal programs in existing acreage and in New Ventures evaluations, and asset acquisition programs. Ideally, the appointee will have significant experience in Quantitative Interpretation as well as seismic interpretation and able to advise on seismic reservoir characterisation using multi-impedance volumes and geostatistical methods, AVO analysis, rock-physics modelling and sequence stratigraphic analysis. Suitable candidates will have gained extensive experience in a variety of international basins in various geophysical capacities of the maturation of exploration prospects and geophysical project work for development opportunities. Skills in a combination of rock physics, pre-stack interpretation and quantitative seismic interpretation are required and you should be knowledgeable about seismic acquisition and processing. You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of potential operated deepwater wells, as well as to large regional interpretation projects.
