ROLE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION

Our client, a blue chip global consultancy, requires a Geophysicist specialising in Seismic Interpretation to work on their customer’s site in Muscat, Oman. This position is for someone who has substantial experience but has remained very “hands on” in their approach – they are not looking for a manager, more a “do-er”.

Whilst Geophysical skills & experience will be important, our client is looking for someone who has good knowledge of as many of the market leading geophysical interpretation applications as possible. Our client’s customer is currently running a project to select their main geophysical application suite which has just moved into its second phase, the hands on technical evaluation of different tools, and the candidate who fills this roll would be expected to be heavily involved in it.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Providing hands on seismic interpretation expertise
• Providing expertise in the objective technical evaluation of Seismic Interpretation tools against a defined set of user requirements

ROLE REQUIREMENTS – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 10/15 years minimum experience of Seismic Interpretation
• Knowledge of at least two of the following Seismic Interpretation tools:
  • Petrel
  • Decision space desktop
  • Paradigm
  • nDI
• The ability to use a wide range of Seismic interpretation tools in a meaningful way with regards to datasets
• The ability to quickly learn any new Seismic Interpretation tools that they do not already have experience of
• The ideal candidate will have a real passion for the technology and tools that are utilised and available in the Geophysical Interpretation arena

ROLE CONTRACT DURATION & RATE

• 9 months initially, possible long term engagement
• Pay rate of up to £850/day, dependent on skills and experience
• This opportunity should be considered as being on a contractor basis and as such the day rate reflects our clients desire to “roll up” any benefits into one figure
• Our client will assist in the process of obtaining any visas and/or work permits that are required
