2 x Offshore Construction Manager

Contract Position – Primarily Offshore North Sea

ROLE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION

Our client, a SuperMajor Oil & Gas Operator, requires two Offshore Construction Managers for a initial contract of twelve months.

The roles will be primarily be based offshore on a 2x2 basis some onshore work may be required. The Offshore construction Managers will be responsible for the safe execution of offshore work scopes by overseeing the safety, health and welfare of all offshore project personnel, to deliver the project on time, within budget and with nobody getting hurt.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The holders of this position will:

  • Have responsibility for managing the Project offshore management organization by given clear guidance and direction in procedural compliance with work executed in a safe manner
  • Promote project offshore safety briefs and (by example) take a leading role in ensuring the company safety, quality & environmental philosophies are met
  • Actively promote our clients safety procedures, attending offshore toolbox talks, conducting PSI and STOP tours and ensuring bi-weekly safety meetings are held with the offshore project team
  • Oversee / monitor all project related offshore works / activities, ensuring compliance with approved scopes of work, procedural compliance and that the work is executed in an entirely safe manner
  • Establish offshore project office, logistics arrangements and lines of communication on Barge and bridge linked installation
  • Act as focal point for communications between project & offshore operations, implement offshore progress monitoring and reporting mechanisms
  • Liaise with the COMOPS and Barge OIM on planning, access to work sites, PTW approvals to ensure so far as is practicably possible uninterrupted and efficient working to meet a 9hr productive day metric
  • Monitor the allocation of offshore resources and man hours, report on progress in the form of a daily report that will be issued prior to the daily meeting with the onshore project management team
  • Liaise with the project planner to ensure accurate work scopes are entered into the project plans as to avoid execution conflicts and maximize resource efficiency and attend all project planning meetings
  • Assist in the identification and scopes of services to rectify A&OI anomalies
  • Immediately advise the Project Manager of issues, concerns, matters relating to project activities that may have an impact on HSE, schedule and or budget
  • Support the HUC activities between the barge and the installation through liaison with the platform OIM, REP, RIP and HUC team and to minimize production disruption during MOB -DEMOB process
  • Liaise with the Vessel Rep to ensure that labour provided to the project by all contractors have been trained and have competencies that are consistent with our clients contractual requirements and any agreed project specific contractual variations

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 yearsˇ¦ experience in the management and control of a multi-disciplined construction teams offshore
  • Proven HSE core values that will be consistent with our clients stated policies and goals
  • Drive and commitment to deliver activities on schedule and within budget
  • A current BOISET certification and medical certificate

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • HND in engineering / construction discipline
  • NVQ in Management/Supervision or equivalent
  • MIST certification

ROLE CONTRACT DURATION & RATE

  • The contract will have an initial duration of 12 months
  • The day rate will be competitive and based on the candidates skills and experience
