Established in 1995 and now celebrating 10 successful years operating in Houston, GTS-Geotech is embarking on a recruitment drive for Data Managers of all levels (2 - 20 plus years experience).

We would like to hear from ONLY those Data Management staff experienced in Landmark, Schlumberger or other 3^rd party suites WHO ARE IMMEDIATELY ELIGIBLE TO LIVE AND WORK IN THE HOUSTON AREA.

Typical job duties/responsibilities:

• Manage G&G digital data
• Load seismic (pre/poststack) and well data to SeisWorks, OpenWorks and Petrel
• Performing data QC/cleanup in corporate databases
• Provide ad hoc technical support to geologists and geophysicists
• Recognize bottlenecks or inefficient practices and provide solutions
• Managing disk space for petrotechnical applications

Qualifications:

• Degree in geology or a related discipline ideally but just as interested to hear from candidates qualified by experience

Combinations of the following Knowledge/skills/experience preferred:

• 2 - 20+ years in a similar role
• Familiarity with all typical subsurface seismic and well data types/formats
• Experience loading well and seismic data (SeisWorks/OpenWorks/OpenSpirit/Petrel)
• Knowledge of geodetics and projection systems
• Knowledge of GIS systems (eg. ArcGIS, MapInfo, PetroView)
• Experience of Unix/Linux systems , shell scripting, awk/sed skills
• Basic SQL
