Well & Seismic Data Manager
Contract Position – Aberdeen, UK

As a result of expanding requirements our client needs a Well & Seismic Data Manager to join its onsite team at a Supermajor E&P client. The role is within a team which is the focal point for all Well & Seismic data management services. The main duties and responsibilities encompass the management of :
- Seismic data types throughout the entire seismic data lifecycle; acquisition, processing, interpretation and archiving
- Well data types including composite well logs, deviation surveys and end of well reports

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
The successful candidates will be functioning as a Data Manager. The roles & responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Performing seismic 2D & 3D data management in Kingdom, Petrel, Terrastation & Seisworks
- Performing well data management in Openworks, Geolog, Kingdom, & Terrastation
- Performing seismic data loading in GigaViz
- Cultural data management within Kingdom, Petrel & Seisworks
- CDA, DEAL and DTI seismic & well data submission compliance
- Seismic & well entitlements management
- Management of seismic & well data release & trades
- Seismic physical media transfers
- Data archival & retrieval
- Monitoring Kingdom disk space
- Management of Data Rooms
- Management of wells & seismic spatial layers within GIS systems
- Gocad project creation
- LicenceWeb administration
- CDA service focal point; user group representative & account administrator
- CDA well data downloads
- Maintenance of well data inventory
- Management of core data & viewings
ROLE REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally the candidate will have a BSc/MSc. in a Geoscience related discipline
- Relevant working experience is an acceptable substitute
ROLE REQUIREMENTS – EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE - TECHNICAL
Candidates should have suitable experience to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the role, detailed earlier in this advert and should be able to demonstrate this experience in their CV, particularly their technical experience of the Kingdom and Landmark application suites. Knowledge of Petrel and/or Terrastation would be an advantage.
In addition candidates should have:
- Technical experience in the Oil & Gas E&P industry in a seismic and/or well data management role, gained through seismic and/or well data loading, migration, deployment of databases or training in data management
- A thorough understanding of subsurface data types, e.g.LAS, DLIS, LIS, and ASCII
- Competence at loading seismic & well data and related data types to systems without supervision, in particular to Finder, Techlog, Landmark suites
- An understanding of co-ordinate reference systems is essential
- Previous experience working on systems running on UNIX / Linux / Windows client-server platforms

ROLE CONTRACT DURATION & RATE
- Contract rate will be to c.£350/day, dependant on qualifications, skills & experience
- The contract duration will be 3 months, initially
- Extensions will be offered subject to good performance
- There will be the option to move to a staff position, again subject to good performance
