Integration Specialist – Subsurface Oil & Gas

ROLE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION
Our client, a global blue chip consultancy, requires Integration Specialists with experience in the subsurface Oil & Gas arena. This is an outstanding chance to work onsite with an Oil & Gas SuperMajor.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Identifying and understand the issues of geoscientist subject matter experts and translating those into problem statements and requirement scopes
- Understanding of a subject matter expert's solution for multi-application date exchange
- Creation of an assessment that meets or exceeds the expectation of the subject matter experts
- Performing and documenting the integration assessment
- Documentation of lessons learned
- Solution delivery based on the above captured knowledge in both technical and user based documentation
ROLE REQUIREMENTS -SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience working in Sub-Surface IT as Integration Specialist or Architect
- Competent across some common sub-surface applications including Landmark sub-surface applications and Petrel
- Strong understanding of the data types and volumes involved in sub-surface geoscience
- Proven ability to develop test/evaluation strategies and proven experience of working with the business to coordinate the implementation of a strategy
- Experience of working in Linux and Windows environments
- Significant experience of data and process modelling, using a structure approach
- Proven experience in completing strategic reviews and developing solutions that have then been implemented and successfully provided business benefit
- Prior experience of data management, data lifecycle management and the integration of applications
- Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines and geographies
- Proven ability to assess integrity and appropriateness of potential IT solutions
DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of systems, applications and data involved in oil and gas well drilling
- Prior experience of developing solutions with BP
- Knowledge of CVP (or alternate stage gate decision process) and underlying project methodologies

ROLE CONTRACT DURATION & RATE
- The contract will be for an initial duration of 6 months, although extensions may be available
- A contract rate of up to £550/day is available, subject to the skills & experience of the candidate
