ROLE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION
Our client, a SuperMajor operator, requires 4 Completions Engineers for an initial 12 month contract, based at their offices in Aberdeen, UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a SuperMajor Oil & Gas Operator.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Providing completion and production engineering support to Well Operations, Operational Units and Projects in order to optimize life cycle completion design & production performance safely and economically
- A critical requirement the ability to be able to design completions from the reservoir interface
- Provide support to:
- Operational Unit as required during Prospect Generation phase
- Well Team during Well Planning, Operations Planning & Execution
- Operational Units during production to provide completion related problem resolution & production optimizing
- Intervention planning as required
- Ensure completion design:
- Meets the well objectives
- Complies with standards and legislation
- Is optimized for the full well life cycle
- Carry out full review of completion design and execution- mechanical design and production post audit- to ensure continuous improvement
- Ensure synergy capture and experience transfer within North Sea Business Unit and globally
- Develop & implement key processes
- Identify, evaluate and develop new completion technology
- Prospect Generation & Well Planning
- Support Operational Unit/Project feasibility studies
- Develop completion concepts
- Support Operational Unit inflow optimisation & outflow modelling studies
- Develop preferred completion design
- Carry out preliminary design engineering (including rock strength analysis, drill in fluid compatibility studies)
- Optimise completion cost and schedule
- Develop contract strategy
- Liaise with projects on interfaces
- Support rig selection
- Operations Planning, Execution & Wrap Up
- Undertake detailed design engineering review
- Specify & procure completion equipment
- Compile information for regulatory permits & well examination
- Manage completion contractor interfaces (including expediting & QA)
- Compile detailed completion programmes, supported by relevant specialists
- Coordinate completion training, simulations, risk assessments etc
- Monitor drilling operations in order to fully optimise final completion design
- Provide onshore support (Daily Operational Plan & time planning review, engineering analysis, problem resolution, cost & performance tracking etc) during completion operations
- Provide offshore support as agreed
- Compile & distribute handover documentation
- Carry out post well review & reporting
- Support production post audit (inflow review)
- Production operations
- Provide completion-related problem resolution (well integrity, produced fluids, operability issues etc.)
- Seek feedback to optimise completion design
- Support intervention planning as required
- Provide production optimisation support as required
- Miscellaneous
- Ensure completion design & operations comply with our clients policies and procedures and statutory requirements
- Develop & comply with key processes (Maxwell)
- Research, identify and evaluate new technology opportunities
- Share completion lessons learned across North Sea Business Unit
- Collaborate with Upstream Technology on continuous improvement of completion design
- Represent our client at completion industry forums as required
- Mentor junior engineers in completion design & engineering
ROLE REQUIREMENTS – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Candidates should possess the skills and experience to be able to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the role, detailed above
- Candidates should have at least 5 years experience
ROLE CONTRACT DURATION & RATE
- The contract will have an initial duration of 12 months
- The day rate is open and will be subject to candidates skills and experience
