Brief client details: Our client is an independent oil and gas Exploration and
Production company based in Aberdeen focused on growth through international
exploration and the development of low risk production from the UK North Sea. Over
the last five years their production has grown ten fold.
What's in it for you:
You will be a key member of client's technical team with the following specific responsibilities:
- Geophysical mapping of client's equity blocks on the UKCS and generation of exploration and appraisal well locations.
- Geophysical support to client's development and production assets and non-operated exploration assets.
- Geophysical support for exploration, development and production new business opportunities.
- Management and quality control of client's operated seismic acquisition and processing/reprocessing projects.
- Company representation at licence technical committees and industry geophysical forums.
Your efforts in terms of bringing your strong skills in seismic interpretation and your business acumen to a smaller company like this will mean that you will be able to make an immediate contribution.
Career opportunities with this company:
Initially you will be based in Aberdeen but there will opportunities later, if you are successful with the company, to work at their international locations.
Job requirements and qualifications:
- Dedicated and practicing Senior Geophysicist with strong experience and an up-to-date appreciation of the latest available technology including seismic acquisition, processing, 4D seismic, inversion and AVO techniques.
- Experience in seismic interpretation, petroleum systems analysis and prospect generation - proven oil/gas finder.
- Keen commercial awareness.
- Experience of supporting exploration teams and drilling operations.
- Experience of operated and non-operated activity, both UK and internationally.
- Experience of working cooperatively with coventurers.
- Familiarity with all the main providers of subsurface consultancy services.
- Ability to conduct quick fit-for-purpose analyses of new business opportunities.
- Working experience in both small company and large multi-national operating company environments.
- Able to work effectively in the less procedural and less rigid environment of a small company without the in-house support services of a larger organisation.
- Confident team player who can efficiently multi-task.
