Reservoir Engineer - Contract


Location: Stavanger, Norway
Start date: January 2010 (or asap)
Duration: 12 months

Our client, one of the world's largest energy companies, is looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineer to be based in their Stavanger office supporting their Norwegian North Sea assets. The main purpose of this role is to assist in all activities that the Subsurface Team is working on including project support, area depletion planning, well planning, model building. Priorities will change during the year but clear guidelines will be set by the Senior RE and Reservoir Team Leader.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of subsurface input to all projects and input to well planning including communication of results to the Subsurface Team and other teams if required
  • Organization of the necessary assurance for the work carried out, either internally in the Team or through a wider network as required.
  • Input to Statement of Requirements (SOR) ensuring all relevant teams provide input
  • Partner and authority communication if required
  • Contribute in exploring options for technology development

Education/Experience:

  • Master in reservoir Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Position should be held by an experienced reservoir engineer, preferentially with experience from mature chalk fields with water injection.
  • Cross-disciplinary skills and ability to communicate/integrate multiple data types are a must
  • Skillful application of reservoir modeling tools, preferentially VIP and RMS, is a requirement.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good knowledge of the English language with the ability to speak Norwegian an advantage.
