If you're an expert in your field, you could help Shell to meet the world's rising demand for energy. Advanced technologies are helping us to successfully unlock new energy resources and efficiently develop existing oil and gas fields. This is your chance to be part of a skilled and dedicated team that's leading the way. This is your chance to lead a talented Well Completion & Intervention team, tasked with planning and implementing work programmes. You will implement controls and processes to safeguard the technical integrity of all well completion and intervention activities. At the same time, you'll drive performance improvement by using 'limit methodology' tools and techniques such as Realise-the-Limit (RtL). What's more, you'll act as a link to the Asset Teams, Well and Completion Engineers, and Well Construction Teams, efficiently allocating and managing resources to maximise production, minimise expenditure and ensure all activities are completed on time. Crucially, you'll have the authority to approve deviations from planned programmes. But your greatest responsibility is to ensure the safety of your team and contractors; lead on Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), and to provide operational emergency response support. Your experience should cover the planning, design and supervision of well servicing activities, including work-over and abandonment, well testing, completions deployment, wellhead maintenance and field operations such as snubbing and hoists, wireline, well stimulation and artificial lift. This technical expertise will be based on the minimum of a diploma or preferably a degree (or equivalent) in a technical or engineering subject. You'll combine it with strong HSSE skills and a valid IWCF supervisors' certificate. We'll also expect you to have a firm grasp of risk management tools and techniques, incident management, well control criteria, equipment-specification selection and well servicing operational practices. In short, you need plenty of in-depth expertise. After all, this is a key, senior role, where you'll be expected to lead by example, inspire teams to perform at their best and supply expert knowledge. You'll need the communication skills to express yourself clearly and authoritatively, often in diverse, multi-cultural teams. It's therefore essential that you're fluent in English as well as analytical, IT literate and familiar with well engineering software. Join us and you'll be supported to follow the Shell Group "Round 2" Distance Learning Programme with the aim of obtaining this qualification within two years. At Shell you'll not only progress your career, but play an important role in an innovative company that offers excellent rewards and benefits.
