Schlumberger is the world's leading supplier of technology, integrated project management and information solutions to customers working in the oil and gas industry worldwide. We employ approximately 77,000 people representing over 140 nationalities and working in more than 80 countries. SCR is a science and engineering research laboratory, located in Cambridge, UK, that carries out fundamental and applied research developing new technologies for the oil field.
The Advanced Recovery group at SCR is currently looking for candidates for a 2-year post-doc research position, to develop mathematical models and simulations of chemical processes for enhanced oil recovery. Our aim, through a tight interplay between modelling and experimentation, is to understand the governing hydrodynamic and physicochemical mechanisms of chemical enhanced oil recovery, and to put this to practical use in devising new methods for designing, monitoring and controlling such processes. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent experience in applied mathematics, physics, chemical engineering or a related discipline, together with experience of the formulation and numerical implementation of models for flow and transport processes in porous media. The start date is mid-2010.
To apply or request further information please send a detailed CV for the attention of Kate Evans, personnel advisor at scr-recruit@slb.com quoting the reference ARPD in the subject line.
Closing date is Wednesday 31st March 2010.
