Petroleum System Analysis and Reservoir Static Modeling

We are currently working on a field development plan project for three hydrocarbon fields; one is with about 24 drilled wells and the other two ones are with 3 to 4 drilled wells each. Required tasks as part of the plan are to construct: i) petroleum system model and ii) reservoir static model.

The applicant should have degree (preferably higher degree) in geosciences and/or relevant applied industry experience and be able to integrate data from multiple geoscience and petroleum engineering areas. An advanced understanding of geochemistry and basin modeling/analyses are required along with experience in evaluating hydrocarbon generation, migration, accumulation, and preservation (conventional systems) for petroleum system analysis task. An advanced understanding of seismic interpretation, facies and petrophysics analysis for reservoir static modelling task.

Skills and Experience:
  • Degree (preferably higher degree) in geosciences and/or sufficient relevant applied industry experience in petroleum system modelling and reservoir static modelling.
  • Experience in using PetroMod (1D, 2D and 3D) and Petrel is a plus for petroleum system analysis task.
  • Experience in using Petrel and Techlog is a plus for reservoir static model task.
  • Experience of working in different geological settings.
  • Broad expertise in all aspects of petroleum systems analysis and be able to characterize petroleum systems at field development for petroleum system analysis task.
  • A detailed understanding of heat flow processes and controls through time and its control on petroleum generation, expulsion and fluid composition; migration and entrapment of petroleum in the subsurface for petroleum system analysis task.
  • Broad expertise in seismic interpretation, well correlation, electrofacies and petrophysics analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative and proven skills in time and project management.
Position duration: The position is intended to be 4 months (possible extension for one extra month) for each of the required tasks.

Starting date: Reservoir static model task is planned to start by end of January/ February 2017 whereas petroleum system analysis task is to start April/May 2017.
