Qualification

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering

Experience/Areas of Specialization

Considerable related academic and professional experience, including:

  • Outstanding teaching and research at the tertiary level
  • A track record of distinguished, original and innovative work; high quality publications in peer-reviewed international journals
  • Outstanding success in and wide recognition of professional activities
  • Corporate membership in a reputable professional institution
  • Active engagement in industry, with considerable industry experience as a distinguished Chemical Engineer
  • Proven success in grant applications

Experience in process utilities and safety will be an advantage.

Candidates must specialize in the following:

  • Hydrocarbon Processing;
  • Complementary Expertise;
  • Thermodynamics; and
  • Reaction Engineering

Special Responsibilities

  • Teach Undergraduate and Graduate courses
  • Lead and develop research activities in the aforementioned specialized areas that impact the region, particularly in the Energy Sector

Personal Attributes

Must have the ability to interact positively with academic and support staff within the Department and the University as well as interface with the very vibrant local and regional process industry
