Job Overview: An integrated geophysical Company offering seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation services is expanding and seeks Multi-Client (MC) Business Development and Marketing Managers to develop their expanding MC business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME). Applicants are invited with a strong background in the seismic industry and proven MC sales or/and business development experience and a drive and ambition to succeed in a rapidly expanding services Company. This is a great opportunity to take on responsibility for regional MC sales in an extremely buoyant oil and gas seismic industry for an expanding Company.

With a highly experienced MC team in all major markets the Company is aggressively pursuing opportunities across many regions and is undergoing rapid expansion. Their focus is to provide high quality datasets by using the latest available and internally developed technologies. This focus is supported by an experienced team that oversee the day-to-day testing, parameterisation and operations to ensure geophysical integrity. They currently operate a fleet of 2D and 3D seismic acquisition vessels deployed around the globe and are in the process of further developing their capacity in both seismic acquisition and processing. They offer clients a fully integrated service from marine acquisition, through processing to interpretation.

The Company has established a significant presence in EAME and are fully committed to further developing business opportunities in this region. Working in the MC Sales Group, you will be assigned a specific region and will be supported by technical explorationists on business trips as required.

Responsibilities:Reporting to the Vice President of Global Multi-Client, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Become competent in the use of the Company's technologies, workflows and practices.
  • Identify key decision players in your region (e.g. exploration, new ventures), understand their exploration activities and develop solutions as to how the Company can support their exploration goals. Build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Identify and create a pipeline of potential survey projects. Promote new surveys and associated value-add services.
  • Meet with prospective clients, to discuss and demonstrate the prospectivity of the area of interest. (Technical explorationists may support these meetings).
  • Prepare and present project proposals outlining project ideas, including budgets and timescales to prospective players. Secure the interest and finalise the funding requirements, the agreed parameters and timeframes.
  • Co-ordinate project activities, design, acquisition, processing, interpretation and manage the relationship throughout the service delivery ensuring the highest level of satisfaction is maintained.
  • Be proactive in promoting the value and revenue stream from existing seismic data.
  • Identify players in NOCs and Government Groups across your regions - establish and build long-term relationships with key contacts. Work with these authorities, to identify licensing round activities, understanding the challenges and constraints regarding the MC business, and be proactive in promoting awareness and reputation of the Company.
  • As required, work with Government representatives in negotiating agreements to perform Multi-Client surveys.
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of all current market conditions (e.g. client activities, competitors, third parties, licensing rounds, government bodies..) in relation to exploration activities.
  • Work in close cooperation with the MC New Ventures group, keeping them abreast of your business development activities.
  • Attend relevant industry conferences to represent and promote the MC business in your designated region whilst raising the perception and reputation of a Company.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • A Degree in a related Earth Science subject, especially Geology or Geophysics desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years oil and gas industry experience essential preferably in MC sales.
  • Proven experience in managing business growth essential (either as a Business Development or/and Sales Manager of geotechnical services, products or/and data).
  • An understanding of the seismic industry essential - either from acquisition, processing or/and interpretation essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen essential - the ability to analyse and identify market opportunities and develop and deliver successful projects.
  • Previous experience working in a Multi-Client survey business essential. A dynamic motivated individual with excellent communications skills and an outgoing personality essential.
  • Strong technical/communications skills essential - can quickly grasp the technical aspects of Multi-Client services and the ability and confidence to articulate the value proposition to prospective clients and third parties.
  • Relationship builder - ability to build strong networks across various cultures.
  • Can work independently and also be an excellent team player, with the ability to work with all levels within the Company to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent coordination skills - ability to multitask and undertake various sales related activities simultaneously and internationally.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills- the ability to liaise, listen and communicate with clients, NOCs, Government bodies, and third parties effectively.
  • Fluent in English essential - French language skills advantageous.
  • Creative and passionate - desire to exceed expectations.

  • Must be able to travel as required

Package: As Base Salary of between £60K - £110K plus an attractive commission plan is on offer dependent on skills and experience plus Company benefits.
