Job Overview: A leading International Services Company in the Oil and Gas industry is seeking a Completions Engineer to join their Drilling and Completions Team in Norway to undertake consultancy projects on behalf of oil company clients. Applicants are invited with at least 4 years' experience in subsea or deepwater completions, interested in expanding their technical skills across a portfolio of respected industry technologies and be part of an expanding consultancy team.

Their intelligent completion architectures enable efficient drainage of complex reservoirs. The Company works closely with oil Company Clients undertaking projects that maximises recovery and increases net present value.

Working at oil client sites and in the Stavanger Office, you will enjoy a closely knit community of technical drilling and completions experts who will provide support and mentoring as required. You will utilise established workflow methodologies and a suite of highly regarded drilling and completions software technologies. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Completions Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Become competent in the Company's workflows, technologies and consulting methodologies used. Undertake full training in their portfolio of drilling products.
  • Build close relationships with other team members in the delivery of completions services. Strive to improve your knowledge base and technical skills.
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with the technical Client base - understand their challenges and needs.
  • Depending on your level of expertise you could be involved in a range of activities such as job analysis and design, well support, perform tubing movement and stress calculations, gas lift design, perforating strategy, well bore cleanout, well integrity management, provide advice on equipment capabilities, post job analysis…
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with the end client throughout the project in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide support and guidance to more junior staff where applicable.
  • Be proactive in improving your knowledge base and technical skills in drilling and completions. Participate in the Company's developmental programs to accelerate learning.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree essential, preferably in a petroleum engineering subject.
  • A minimum of 4 years proven experience in Subsea or deepwater completions essential. Familiarity with "Smart" type completions highly advantageous.
  • Experience performing tubing movement and stress calculations essential.
  • Some experience in job analysis and design, well support, gas lift design, perforating strategy, well bore cleanout or/and well integrity management is essential.
  • Experience using Wellcat highly advantageous.
  • Some sand control experience highly desired.
  • Previous experience in undertaking technically well completions consultancy services to end clients highly advantageous.
  • Some experience of completions software technologies essential "SmartWell" system experience/knowledge advantageous.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to resolve complex problems and articulate the solution effectively essential.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence and gain commitment of, internal business leaders and key stakeholders and externally with clients, suppliers and third parties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.

Package: This role is open to candidates with 4 years' plus to senior level completions engineering. The Company is fully open to discussing salary expectations for this role. The Company pay highly competitive salaries, plus an attractive bonus and Company Benefits. Relocation to Norway will be considered.
