Job Overview: A leading provider of information to the global Energy, Defence, Power, and the Environmental Industries seeks a Support/Training Advisor to provide technical support and training for International Energy products to Clients across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The Company is flexibile in the location of this job. Applicants are invited with excellent communication skills, geoscience academic or industry background, and the ability to work with databases and information stores. The Company are committed to providing full training in all relevant technologies. As you will based in one of the noted European cities, fluency in, Spanish and Italian is key (French advantageous).

Their Energy Division offers products and solutions for all aspects of oil and gas exploration, production and delivery. They have unprecedented databases of trusted information, and they have developed and acquired leading edge software resulting in an extensive portfolio of technologies covering engineering, economics and geoscience software suites.

Their Editorial and Analysis services and products provide professionals in the energy industry with real-time and fast access to current activity and analysis globally. Coverage provides up-to-date information on exploration and production activity, drilling activity reports, current, planned and historical E&P activities, legislation, petroleum rights, and downstream activity.

Working in the Company's Client Support Group within the Energy Division, you will be exposed to the related databases, information, and products. You will fully trained in how data is acquired, stored, accessed and most importantly used by the client base. Following intense training, you will be competent in supporting the user client base and taking on more support activities.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Energy Training Manager EMEA, you will be expected to:

  • Become competent in the Company's software product technologies, work practices and workflows. Full training will be provided.
  • Provide technical support for international data content and services within the Energy Division.
  • Be responsible for all Client contact through phone support, site visits, emails, lunch and learns, demonstrations and training.
  • Work closely with the Sales Account Managers to provide pre and post-sales support via presentations, training sessions, and workshops as required.
  • Communicate with the account managers regarding any ongoing support issues with Clients, and work with them to create training plans
  • Support onsite sales calls, providing technical, product and data knowledge.
  • Help/support in getting the Company's support teams prepared for new product releases, service releases and product enhancements. Help disseminate new offerings and enhancements to Clients.
  • Ascertain knowledge and understanding of industry workflows and how the customer utilises products to suggest best practices.
  • Provide onsite and WebEx training for international energy products.
  • Responsible for contacting Clients regularly, verifying receipt of product updates and offering assistance with installations as required. Accounts will also need to be notified at least once per month in an effort to increase support, company exposure and provide assistance to help account managers with potential at risk accounts.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching with peers on areas of expertise including presentations on products, data and other industry related essential information.
  • Contribute and provide feedback to product groups on identified issues, bugs, and requested enhancements identified by Clients, and during BETA and or acceptance testing for product release.

This is an exciting opportunity, as you will work with personnel across countries within the region, business units and numerous product lines within the Energy Division. It is a diverse role providing great scope and autonomy to enhance both your technical and Client liaison and support skills. There is also potential to cross train into other divisions within the Company such as Geoscience.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • A Geoscience related degree preferred. Master's preferred.
  • Fluency in Italian and Spanish essential. French advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years oil and gas industry experience essential.
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role highly advantageous.
  • Strong aptitude for databases and web-based technologies essential.
  • The ability to deliver high quality training/presentations to end clients. Full training provided.
  • Ability to understand and work with complex databases and information solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills essential - the ability to interact internally and with clients to arrange and deliver effective training course and mentoring.
  • Strong desire to advance your understanding of technology products and how they are used to meet Energy business needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Efficient time management, highly organised with excellent coordination skills essential.
  • Needs to be comfortable in working in a fast pace support environment.
  • Confident and self-reliant - the ability to travel throughout Europe/Africa and the Middle East independently and to deal with various cultures and work environments.
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Enthusiasm, drive and ambition to succeed.
  • Ability to physically perform general office duties.
  • Must be able to travel extensively to various client sites around the globe with appropriate training material.

Package: Dependent on skills and experience, a Base Salary of €40K - €50K Euro plus a discretionary Bonus, plus Company Benefits. Role offers a great working dynamic environment.
