Job Overview: A leading International Services Company in the Oil and Gas industry is expanding their Drilling and Completions Team in Norway and seek mid to senior level Drilling Engineers to work with oil company Clients in designing and optimising their well plans. You may consult onsite or offsite, individually or as part of a well planning team and will have access to the best training and technologies available in the industry. Applicants are invited with experience in well planning, design or/and optimisation projects and who are interested in undertaking challenging and exciting projects utilising innovative technologies and work practices. The Company works closely with oil Company Clients undertaking projects that maximises recovery of assets and increases net present value.

The Company is a global leading provider of drilling and completions engineering solutions to the energy. Due the increased demand for their exceptional drilling engineering solutions, they are expanding this consultancy team. You will be exposed to a portfolio of recognized leading industry technologies and to a variety of project types including deep-water, unconventional and carbon capture applications.

Consultancy projects are undertaken at the client site or at their offices. You will enjoy a closely knit community of technical drilling and completions experts across all level of expertise. For projects undertaken at oil company client sites, you may have to spend time away from your base location; however this will be reviewed and opportunities for relocating near the long-term client site exist.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Drilling Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Become competent in the Company's workflows, technologies and consulting methodologies used. Undertake full training in their portfolio of drilling products.
  • Build close relationships with other team members in the delivery of drilling services. Strive to improve your knowledge base and technical skills.
  • Develop and maintain personal relationships with the technical Client base - understand their challenges and needs.
  • Depending on your level of expertise you could be involved in a range of activities such as well analysis, directional well planning, modeling, and well operations optimization, well support, well integrity management, determining cost-effective casing and tubing designs etc.
  • Create well plans for a variety of project types including deep-water, unconventional and carbon capture applications
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with the end client throughout the project in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide support and guidance to more junior staff where applicable.
  • You will have a mandate to deliver exceptional engineering solutions to clients. As such, be proactive in improving your knowledge base and technical skills in drilling practices and technologies.
  • Participate in the Company's developmental programs to accelerate learning and knowledge of their drilling tools and integrated technologies.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree essential, preferably in a petroleum engineering subject.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in drilling roles, including a solid foundation in petroleum engineering, well planning and some exposure to drilling operations essential.
  • Previous experience in designing and optimising well plans essential.
  • Competent user of drilling software technologies essential. Experience of Landmark's WellPlan, Compass and StressCheck frilling technologies highly advantageous.
  • The ability to grasp new technologies and to master multiple applications spanning several disciplines.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to resolve complex problems and articulate the solution effectively essential.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to rapidly master new applications.
  • Strong personality and confidence to build strong relationships at all levels internally and externally with clients to deliver results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ambitious - desire to succeed - to develop and grow with the role - take on new challenges and to exceed expectations.
  • Team player - proven ability to work all levels to accomplish goals.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Highly flexible - ability to constantly adapt to the changing challenges of an oil operater.
  • High appreciation and pride in delivering a good consultancy service -can monitor performance and strive to improve.
  • Ability to travel to client offices as required.

Package: This role is open to candidates with 5 years' plus to senior level drilling engineering. The Company is fully open to discussing salary expectations for this role. The Company pay highly competitive salaries, plus an attractive bonus and Company Benefits. Relocation to Norway will be considered.
