Job Overview: An integrated geophysical Company offering seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation services is expanding and seeks a QHSE Co-ordinator to assist their Operations team with day-to-day QHSE support of their expanding highly modern seismic vessel fleet that operate in project locations worldwide. Based in either the Company's Bergen or UK office, this role is ideal for an individual with good field operations experience and some formal qualifications in any of the QHSE disciplines OR an experienced QHSE professional with a strong understanding of data acquisition operations.

With a strong management team with vast experience in the seismic market, the Company is aggressively pursuing opportunities across many regions and is undergoing rapid expansion. Their focus is to provide high quality datasets by using the latest available and internally developed technologies. This focus is supported by an experienced team that oversee the day-to-day testing, parameterisation and operations to ensure geophysical integrity. They currently operate a fleet of 2D and 3D seismic acquisition vessels deployed around the globe and are in the process of further developing their capacity in both seismic acquisition and processing. They offer clients a fully integrated service from marine acquisition, through processing to interpretation.

Their vessels and crews provide the highest levels of operational performance and production, and as such, require the highest levels of QHSE to support them. Using top of the range risk management software, the Company is committed to reaching the optimum level of QHSE expectations, and have recently begun the ISO9001 certification process.

Working for a highly dynamic company whose reputation is growing worldwide your role will be to assist the QHSE Director in the implementation of QHSE standards across all Company sites, to promote a consistent message and performance throughout the Company and to end clients, and to support the upkeep of the QHSE management system.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the QHSE Director your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Become competent in the Company's QHSE workflows, practices and software.
  • Provide support to the QHSE Director in all QHSE matters.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Company's QHSE Management Systems across all Company sites worldwide.
  • Help to deliver a consistent QHSE message and performance both throughout the Company and to their clients.
  • Support and assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the Company's QHSE Management System.
  • Gather and compile relevant QHSE documentation for frequent tender responses.
  • Assist in QHSE training inductions and initiatives of vessel crews and office staff.
  • Attend QHSE meetings with the Company's ship managers.
  • Assist with handling QHSE requisitions from the vessels.
  • Participate in pre-survey planning for Clients, and help develop Project Risk Assessments.
  • Track the Company's QHSE performance against internally-set targets.
  • Participate in offshore incident investigations as required.
  • Participate in QHSE Inspections and Audits as required.
  • Keep abreast of QHSE practices and trends within the upstream oil and gas industry. Be proactive in building your knowledge base of QHSE legislation and best practices throughout the seismic acquisition world.

This position offers a great deal of opportunity and scope for an individual with some formal qualifications in any QHSE discipline OR an experienced QHSE professional with a strong understanding of data acquisition operations. You will be supported by the QHSE Director in your role.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant QHSE qualifications (e.g. IOSH, ISO…) preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years multi-cultural marine experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a QHSE role highly advantageous. A qualification in QHSE with field operations also of interest.
  • A broad understanding of QHSE best practices, regulations, and legislation essential.
  • Knowledge of Safety regulations involving seismic vessels and marine geophysical surveys internationally advantageous.
  • Experience using QHSE software highly advantageous. Full training provided.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently and use own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Good report writing capabilities - attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills - ability to convey QHSE policies and ensure that they are understood and adhered to.
  • Equally confident presenting to senior management internally and externally
  • Excellent written and spoken English essential. Knowledge of Norwegian advantageous if based in Bergen.
  • Positive attitude and problem solving approach.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities essential.
  • Proven experience with MS Office.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at short notice as required.
