Job Overview: A leading supplier of Geological Services to the global petroleum industry seeks a Senior Geoscientist with a strong background in Seismic Interpretation to work in their Exploration and Appraisal Team, providing technical interpretation and geological expertise. Applicants are invited with 8+ years' industry experience, strong seismic interpretation experience and the ability to undertake geoscience projects, relating to farm-ins and farm-outs, divestments and investments, unitization proposals and/or valuations of assets.

The Company established in the late 1980's, provide a range of services including rock and fluid laboratory analysis, reservoir geology, petrophysics, geophysics, static/dynamic modelling, and reservoir engineering. They have a proven track record of quality, reliability and client focus and have secured long term relationships with international majors to small independents. They undertake standalone to fully integrated projects.

Their subsurface evaluation team, comprises seasoned professionals to recent graduates and undertake projects covering the full hydrocarbon resource life-cycle from exploration to development. They provide their global client base with technical analysis and reporting so they can make sound business decisions concerning farm-ins and farm-outs, divestments and investments, unitization proposals and valuations of assets. They undertake global projects with a key focus on Nigeria, North West Europe and the Middle East.

Due to an increase in service demand, the Company seeks a Seismic Interpreter to complement a team of Geoscientists (seismic interpreters, reservoir geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers) that provides acreage evaluations, field development plans and reservoir modelling studies. Besides providing technical interpretation and geological expertise, the successful candidate will be actively involved in all aspects of project management, staff coaching and client communication.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Subsurface Evaluation Manager this role encompasses many functions including:

• Become competent in the Company's suite of services, work flows and practices.
• Working in the Evaluation and Appraisal Team, undertake and manage technical geoscience project work including stand-alone interpretation projects and integrated reservoir field / basin scale projects.
• Undertake and provide support in Seismic Interpretation projects. You will use various interpretation software, e.g. Petrel, GeoGraphix, SMT, Jewel Suite.
• Undertake sequence stratigraphic evaluations.
• Undertake depth conversion using seismic velocities and well velocities in complex overburdens.
• Provide geological concept support.
• Participate in projects relating to Farm-in opportunity evaluations and recommendations.
• Provide strong project management leadership for projects.
• Working closely with your team to present technical findings to peers and clients.
• Strive to deliver high quality projects to clients in a professional and timely manner.
• Mentor and support more junior level geoscientists - transferring knowledge and expertise and training as required. This is an important part of the job as there is a great team culture where everyone is encouraged to expand the knowledge base.
• Keep abreast of International exploration activities, technologies and practices used and new trends emerging.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

• A Geoscience related Degree essential - preferably MSc or PhD level.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong technical exploration seismic interpretation background essential.
• Experience of basin and reservoir modelling essential with a strong appreciation/knowledge of geological interpretations essential.
• Proven technical hands-on international experience highly desired. Preferably in North West Europe, Nigeria or the Middle East.
• Good hands-on experience in: seismic interpretation, time-to-depth conversion, velocity analysis, integrated field studies, exploration studies, asset evaluations and/or equity / unitisation essential.
• Strong project management skills - the ability to demonstrate good PM practices.
• Previous experience of mentoring or supporting junior staff desired.
• Good working knowledge of a range of industry standard software used in this area essential (e.g. Petrel, GeoGraphix, SMT, Jewel Suite).
• Can work independently and also be an excellent team player, with the ability to work with all levels within the Company to accomplish goals.
• Excellent oral and written skills - comfortable presenting formally and informally to groups of people.
• Confident, self-motivated and responsive individual with sound judgement and pragmatic in approach.
• The ability and experience to succeed in a multi-cultural working environment.
• Dutch language skills advantageous.

Package: An attractive Base Salary of up to €130K Euro's plus Discretionary Bonus and Company Benefits is on offer dependent on skills and experience. Assistance towards relocation is available. The Netherlands gives foreign nationals a highly attractive tax break (the 30% ruling) which makes a significant difference in net salary.
