Job Overview: A leading global provider of multi-client geoscience data and related services to oil and gas Exploration and Production industry seeks a Strategic Sales Account Manager to develop the business, the awareness and reputation of the Company's leading edge Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) Solutions in the global oil and gas market. Applicants are invited with proven experience in high profile customer facing roles and a track record of creating business through a consultative process with major oil companies. Full training in the Company's PRM solution provided and a team of technical experts will support you. A strong understanding of geophysics is highly desired but the key to this role is a strategic sales approach and the ability to articulate and translate the features of a new pioneering technology into significant client benefit. The Company provides extensive global geophysical and geological data libraries that include multi-client seismic data, magnetic and gravity data, digital well logs, production data and directional surveys, they offer advanced processing and imaging services, interpretation products, and data integration solutions.

In addition, they offer a permanent reservoir monitoring solution, using their own pioneered technologies. The solution entails the installation of permanent sensors on the seabed to provide information on the behaviour of the reservoir as it is being produced. These technologies and techniques are increasing oil reserves from circa 30% to 60% and therefor many of the major oil companies are sponsoring the development and evaluation of this technology. With an increased global demand for oil, the PRM technique is growing in both momentum and continued investments, paving the way for its further success.

With potential single sales in the region of $40-$80 million (USD), you will identify and establish relationships with senior level personnel in the oil companies. You will be an entrepreneur, with immense scope to structure your sales and marketing approach and have the flexibility, persistency and a passion to succeed in this exciting and pioneering technology solution.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Client Solutions Director for PRM this role encompasses many functions including:

  • Work closely with the Client Solutions Director in defining the Global PRM Sales Strategy.
  • Become competent in the Company full portfolio of product and service offerings. Full training provided. A team of technical experts will support you in this role.
  • Identify key players in the targeted oil companies - in their asset, reservoir management, seismic and operational teams.
  • Establish relationships with these players and be proactive in increasing the awareness of the Company's solutions. Advise clients on the business value of 4D and 4C seismic - full training provided and technical experts to support you.
  • Devise appropriate sales strategies to develop business opportunities within these accounts and drive business to a successful conclusion.
  • Adopt a consultative sales approach - articulate and translate the features of this pioneering PRM technology into significant client economic long term benefit.
  • Promote the full integrated solution within accounts i.e. acquisition, processing, interpretation....
  • Prepare professional business cases and high quality proposals for technology deployment. Work with the Commercial Director & Client Solutions Director to negotiate and close sales contract.
  • Be proactive in understanding the players and market for potential PRM clients (i.e. oil company activities, licensing rounds, new frontiers…)
  • Ensure that sales revenues deliver against budgeted revenue and profit targets.
  • Provide sales revenue forecasts and monitor, track and predict sales success.
  • Be proactive in promoting the Company's excellence at trade fairs, conferences and the industry in general.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree either in an Earth Science, Numerate or Business related subject preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years oil and gas industry experience essential.
  • Previous experience in business development or/and sales essential. Consultative selling approach desired.
  • Strong strategic player - can see the big picture and develop strategies to deliver results.
  • Proven experience of selling into senior level oil company decision makers essential.
  • Knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts and applications advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of geophysical seismic data, products and/or services highly desired.
  • Experience or knowledge of non-exclusive seismic surveys and their sales cycle advantageous.
  • Direct experience of working for an operator and developing and implementing reservoir surveillance plans and value of information cases advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - with the ability to develop strong working relationships with senior level personnel in oil companies and internally essential.
  • Good technical and commercial skills - with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions to E&P companies essential.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as they arise.
  • Team player - proven ability to work with all levels within the company to accomplish goals - both domestically and internationally.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Candidates with additional language skills are welcomed
  • Ambitious and a commitment and desire to deliver with a willingness to "go the extra mile" when required
  • Enthusiasm and drive to keep abreast of new trends and technologies in this market.
  • Must be able to travel extensively and frequently.

Package: A Base Salary of £70K - £90K plus an attractive bonus scheme offering a potential on-target-earning of £130K+ plus Company benefits is on offer dependent on skills and experience. There may be some flexibility on the package for a high calibre candidate.
